Feng Yu Baby Angel, Feng Yu, a 23-year old Chinese woman, was feeling contractions before she  her 2 hour flight, but she boarded anyway. Probably not the best idea. Women who are more than 7 months pregnant are asked to avoid flying as the pressure that comes from flying altitude can induce labor.

Yu was able to hide her pregnant state by baggy clothes. It also helped that she had a thin build to begin with.

She and her daughter (who she named “Angel”) were lucky as four of the flight attendants had in-flight birth training.

Said Zuo Lei, one of the attendants: “I was frightened when the baby’s head came out but the body was still stuck. … I asked myself to calm down and firmly held the woman’s hand and tried hard to recall what I had learned from emergency training.”

There have been two other cases of women giving birth on planes recently, a woman flying from Manila to San Francisco and another woman on her way to Paris.
